Yan Taro Project Establishes It's First School

Updated: Dec 16, 2020

On October 14, 2020, Horaya Academy, a Yan Taro Project initiative, officially opened its doors to students in grades 7 through 9 in The Gambia, West Africa.

Kindergarten through 6 is slated to open inshaAllah (God Willing), on October 28, 2020. Capacity will be at 100 students, which can be the typical size of ONE class in other local Gambian schools.

The largest outcry of need, in the community, has been seen in Nursery (Preschool ages 3-4), which is set to open mid November. A master educator, that specializes in supporting youth with Special Needs, will be overseeing this division.

The school is touted for its theme of the month; October is Beneficial Knowledge.

May Allah swt increase us in beneficial knowledge, make us a source of beneficial knowledge, let us benefit from the good word of others and establish this initiative as a good word.

Ameen.
